  1. should'nt the headline read, "India successfully test the Agni-5 ICBM" instead of IRBM.

  4. 'Although the DRDO calls the Agni-5 an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), its range of 5000 kilometres puts it --- by most conventional measures --- in the class of intermediate range ballistic missiles (IRBMs), which have ranges of 3,000-5,500 kilometres. ' http://ajaishukla.blogspot.in/2012/04/perfect-launch-for-5000-km-range-agni-5.html This answers my query comment No.2

    Thanks :D

  5. I am no rocket scientist, but one question is bugging me since yesterday. If a ICBM travels outside of atmosphere to again reenter and strike its target, what is limiting the range of agni series. The question here is that, why is the range limited to 5500 when in space the missile can travel further without the need of much fuel. India has already been far ahead in space technology. Then what is the significance of this launch. I PERSONALLY THINK IT IS FAR TOO LESS FAR TOO LATE.
