That's right, folks! It's the Gripen NG test aircraft. The only existing one.... Do you all want to know about this visit?

Yes please..
ReplyDeleteNO and NO!!!!
ReplyDeletetill the amca materialises... ins can have ng... as mig 29k is dated... and... tejas is not the... exact fit for carrier ops...
ReplyDeletewe don't give a shit about you trolling around a paper plane - period.Do you hear us ? You've shouted yourself hoarse into a sorry corner Colonel ,have lost your credibility as an independent defense analyst. Sorry to see this happen to you but you are the cause of your own demise and for making yourself irrelevant ! EOM
ReplyDelete@Ajai sir
ReplyDeleteI though Saab would take it back. I suppose they did not as the NG was specially made for MMRCA and they were pretty confident of winning it.
BTW is there any chance of HAL ripping it open to examine it and derive some expertise from it
thanks

Armour or no deal

ReplyDeleteGripen's out! give us the report on the Arjun and also the contact for your tailor.
ReplyDeleteCujo
we want to know about arjun and tejas. Kidnly dont follow a lost cause like gripen.
ReplyDeleteIs there any existing or expected demand for the Gripen NG!
ReplyDeleteNo !!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe just want updates about Arjun and other stuff happening at Avadi.
Lookin like a Indian elf there.
ReplyDeleteright, now that word has officially come out against F-35, lets start the gripen NG mantra.
ReplyDeleteYes! I would love to know more about your visit, and the beast itself :)
ReplyDeleteonly after the Arjun report
ReplyDeleteno. please tell us about arjun and lca.
ReplyDeletesudeep
No Ajai, we are more concerned that you're not posting your report on the Arjun MBT. Gripen is useless for us in all ways. Why not try a report on Tejas. We are eagerly waiting for such a report on Tejas. If you can visit HAL and get the latest update on Tejas Mark-1 and progress on Mark-II that would be great to read.
ReplyDeleteI thought you already made you case for the F35, as our pick for the MMRCA. Why are we looking at the Gripen now ?
ReplyDeleteIs it for the navy's requirement for a carrier borne multi-role aircraft ? So in essence a competitor for the Naval Super Fulcrum ?
Oh!!! the ego of a celebrity.... After bashing on MMRCA hara-kiri ..how we want to heal our bruised ego.... asking readers whether they want a report or not? ...:(
ReplyDeleteU bet !
ReplyDeleteYes sir!
ReplyDeleteColonel, do you really expect us to say "No!"? :-P
ReplyDelete- DK
No we don't. Just write the post on tanks without dilly dallying!
ReplyDeleteNope. Gripen-NG is no longer relevant wrt MMRCA and we have our own equivalent program in Tejas. Instead please finish and post the CVRDE report you promised.
ReplyDeleteJe..seriously you are a sucker... taking too much time before posting good article doesnt just improve the quality of it. You should instead upload one report when available instead of going by these cheap Zee TV serial tricks...
ReplyDeleteWell dont get me wrong I give lots of respect to your articles but this acts of yours are not good. You take it or leave it doesnt matter but had to give the feedback and so I had.
One more thing, I just want to pass this msg to you so dont bother to post this on your blog.
Cheers
Ravi

ReplyDeleteYou write, "You've shouted yourself hoarse into a sorry corner Colonel ,have lost your credibility as an independent defense analyst."
So why are you still here, loser? Are you so short of options that you have to come to Broadsword despite your poor opinion of it?
I think the opinion is about 1:3 against having a story on the Gripen. So given the unfavourable odds, I will surely post one. Can never resist an underdog...
It's sad that nobody wants to hear about the Gripen because "its out". Are visitors to Broadsword such a sad-assed bunch that they only want to hear about aircraft that the babus in MoD select for the IAF? For me, there are only two interesting aircraft in the MMRCA contest. The Gripen because of the value it brings for so little cost... and the F-35 because its there even without being there. After all, it's a stealth fighter!
And so those are the fighters you will hear about on Broadsword.
Dear Ajai
ReplyDeleteYour posts are coming in so slow that you will very soon beat DRDO/MOD in their slowness of progress as well, maybe you are mixing too much with those babu's
And why Gripen now??
I thought you used to only work for the americans:D
" Sad Assed" ? Seriously ? !!
ReplyDeleteYeah sure that visit of yours to Gripen NG facility was a paid one by SAAB so you feel obligated to advertise that. We understand that. But how relevant is that ? Do a story on the Tejas as to why is it stuck ? Why is LSP-7 or NP-1 not flying already, what happened to wake penetration tests and other test points leading to full IOC ? What's being done to expand the AoA and g limits ? Tell us that and you'll surely have a lot of perked up visitors flocking to Broadsword.
The verdict clearly tells you where the preferances are.
For F-35 and or Gripen programs, I can surely go to so many other humdrum brochure websites or for that matter, even Discovery channel which I believe Broadsword is definitely not.

Anonymous, you're sad assed for two reasons. Firstly, because you go right ahead and assume --- without the slightest shred of evidence --- that the trip was paid for by SAAB.
Well here it is. The trip was paid for by Business Standard. What now?
And that's the second reason why you're sad-assed. Because you post anonymously, accuse anonymously, and then fade out anonymously back into the oblivion from which you came.
And that's really sad-assed!
@"sad-assed" Anon: All things considered, what Ajai has just done is tear you a new one. Best you skulk back into the hole from whence you came. Idiot.
ReplyDeleteSir, please do post about your visit to gripen ng
ReplyDeleteTo Anon@15 November 2011 12:39:
ReplyDeleteWhat is your objective here? Abuse? You have achieved it because you cannot counter Shuklaji's argument with logic. You are hence a loser.
Please note I may not agree with Shuklaji's opinion on various issues he posts but abuse him? It is below my dignity. But I guess that is the language you would struggle to understand.
-Sincerely.
sir, with all due respect, can we PLEASE have the arjunk mk2 report already? WHile i do understand your interest in the gripen, there IS indeed a lot of info out there. the Arjun mk2 is another story, there's been a lot of secrecy on the project, and we dont even have pics. I beg you sir, to please give that priority over the gripen
ReplyDeleteMr Ajai,
ReplyDeleteI have seen cost estimates on the internet which suggest that the F-18 Super Hornet is cheaper than Gripen.
Isnt this true ?
Also being an Army man, I know you have a preference for "strike fighters".
But then , Rafale , F-18 and F-35 are the best strike fighters in the competition.
F-18 is both cost effective as well as a good strike fighter. Then why does an air superiority fighter like Gripen interest you more than F-18 ?
Dear Sir,
ReplyDeleteBeen reading you articles regularly, you doing a good job, dont get riled by some of these 'anonymous' nobodys. What intrigues me more than the Gripen NG is the reason for the Gripen NG article and why Buisness Std is so interested!!! Pl do the Arjun soon...or you might just force me to go anonymous (just kidding) !!!!!!
Regards,
Ajai et al. Truth hurts ain't it
ReplyDeleteSir,
ReplyDeleteI agree Gripen NG was one of the best bang for the buck in the mmrca competition, but choosing that would have really spelled doom for the tejas program since both of them are similar in class and roles. Isnt that right??
don't make people fool here where is REPORT ON Arjun you always lies...
ReplyDeleteBTW no offence or something but its gud to see one journalist defending another tat too in a cut throat "Indian Media" competition as they say....but that brings me to a larger question "are we just humans?"..may be yeah at times we do act like we are..but tats not for this blog...keep up good work brothers...
ReplyDeleteSarvada Shaktishali
yes, would want to know more about this one.. but first waiting eagerly for the pending "Tanks" report..
ReplyDeleteAnybody who has been reading Col. Ajai Shukla's articles for long should know about his love for his country. His cry for indiginization in all defense sectors, his dedication to serve his country even after retirement from active duty. So all you easy chair character analysts out there be careful in what you write. You cant charge a person like Ajai for getting money just because he has a different opinion about things and dont expect him to agree to whatever you think is right. If you cant take a different opinion then dont come to discussion panels.
ReplyDeleteIt's really interesting to see, many people are more inclined towards knowing about stuff which directly relates to India. Gripen NG is altogether a league of its own and definitely deserves a special story. Col Shukla please go ahead and post it, many are waiting. Though Arjun's story is equally worth waiting for.
ReplyDeleteAjai,
ReplyDeleteCongrats! You're the first person in the world to fly in suit and tie! :D
Did the tie fly when you flew the Gripen?
Suit Boot Mein Aaya Kanhaiya...
sir, with gripen winning the swiss airforce contest..could we please get ur report of gripen ng visit
