The DRDO has announced the successful launch this morning of the Agni IV missile, which has a range of 3,500 km. The DRDO says the test met all the mission parameters, and was fired out to a range of 3,000 km.

  1. @Ajai sir

This missile was earlier named Agni 2 Prime but has now been named Agni 4. But isnt it odd that the Agni 3 flies 3500 km and Agni 4 flies 3000 km.

Thought Agni 2 Prime would be renamed Agni 3 and the Agni 3 will be renamed Agni 4 after some modification to reach 4000 km. Your views please.

BTW if Agni 4 will presumably fly 3500 km does that mean Agni 3 is out of favor and will not see commissioning.

I dont remember any country doing this type of odd thing. You views please.

    Thanks
