  1. Ajaiji,

  2. sir

& p-15b like current status till when the respective projects would be completed

  3. Shukla ji, Can you get us Project 15 Status from MDL ?

  4. P28 report coming up.

P-17A report coming up... who's given you these figures, for God's sake? The correct figure is Rs 2600 crores per frigate, which amounts to about $550 million per piece.

Anonymous 14:20, where have you been living? Project 15 was delivered and completed some seven years ago. We are now in Project 15A, with Project 15B due to start next year.

the figure was disclosed in news and is supposed to contain the sums for extensive upg of both MDL and GSRE who r going to build these ships. i think if the P-17a cost is tht low(yes low, i was expecting around 750 mil a piece). So the shipyards must be getting a pretty through upgrade as well as some much needed expansion and addition of more drydocks with ability to handle larger ships.

    btw the source is http://indiadefenceonline.com/880/indian-navy-to-induct-seven-warships-worth-9-billion/

    u r thoughts?

Also do post abt scorpene delay.
r u by any chance going to cover ATV launch? If u r then please post details abt it & it possible(a chance betn slim & none i think) its photos.

  6. p.s Also post abt wht the P-15B is in detail(i.e about further improvements to kolkata class).

  7. Isn't Rs 2600 crores the cost of P17 frigates and not P17A which will be a new design, if it will be a new design.

  8. Col Shukla, can you please pay a small visit to Shiv Aroor's blog and claim your images(if they are yours) so that Shiv can attribute them to you.

  9. Are you guys seriously expecting coverage and images of the ATV launch?

Just in case you've forgotten, there's no such thing as an ATV. There is, therefore, no launch. Mrs Manmohan Singh will be breaking a coconut over an imaginary nuclear submarine...

    ReplyDelete
  10. Ajai ji please elaborate. Is ATV just a scandal? And how do they expect to break a real coconut on imaginary something?

  11. Bachaoo bachaoo,
    These evil yindoos!
Of course there is an ATV project. Guys please try and understand Ajai Shukla's sarcasm.

The ATV is going to be launched 3 days from now, there are media reports even speculative photos on BRF, yet the government of India still officially denies something like an ATV project.

There is a possibility that there will be no photos of the launch released, the honours will be done when the sub is inducted one year later.

  12. Ajaiji,
will you post some details about FIB (Fast Interceptor Boat)?

  13. Eagerly waiting for your reports. Will it takes minimum of one week for it to appear like the MDL reports. Man, we cannot wait that long. This can be compared to the Harry potter fans waiting for the book release.

  14. LOL at the anon above !
    so right you are !

  15. Hi

Could you provide little details on the weapon layout of the P-28 corvettes till the detailed report comes out. Do they carry any AsuW missiles like Klub-S? The GRSE models only showed Baraks, 533 mm torp tubes and RBU-6000's.

    thanks
    MT

  19. Ajai, in your latest piece Business standard, you note that India will be receiving two Akula-2's - but Sandeep Unnithan in India Today, says we will get only one - the ex Nerpa as INS Chakra.

    Could you clarify?

    Thanks
    Akash

  20. I am totally confused! Some reporters say there is ATV, other group say it ATV, but it is SSBN (not having nuclear missiles). Some says, it is SSBN (fully equipped with nuclear missles), not ATV. Someone is fooling some of us. I do not know. Is the GOI fooling its citizens? Is the reporters fooling the readers? or MoD/DRDO fooling the country?

Hope something will come out on July 26, which can go through the deep ocean operated by 80MW nuclear reactor, equipped with nuclear and conventional missles so that if an enemy attacks our country, it can launch missiles to defend our country.

  21. Buraidiah -- aka Aliph Ahmed aka the poster @2:03, dont worry, the ATV will have enough firepower to vaporise your Pakistan many times over.

And the MOD/DRDO/ Reporters are not fooling anyone. You Pakistanis will get to see enough soon and you will know what you face.

  22. LOL at catching Buraidiah, what a pathetic character this guy is, stalks Indian websites and blogs to spew his hateful, madrassa inspired rubbish.

  23. nah, it's not buraidiah, he can't string one whole correct sentence, unlike this guy.

  24. its terrible that projects that are critical to the nation's defence get delayed and there is no accountability. Somebody should file PIL with the supreme court. The Indian press is woefully ignorant when it comes to defence matters - if I see one more news report about the Navy is going to add more than 30 ships in the next 5 years I will puke - that has been the news for the past 5 years.
